Mumbai: From being an adult film actress to creating waves in Bollywood, Sunny Leone has come a long way in the past few years. The Indo-Canadian talent credits her husband Daniel Weber for her success.

The duo got married in 2011.

"I would have been nothing if Daniel wasn`t by my side," Sunny said during the shooting of ‘Breakfast to Dinner’.

She said that at first, “I wanted him to reject me, so I went late for my first date with Daniel."

But destiny had other plans for them.

Sunny said that she owes her husband, who is also her manager, as he stood beside her through thick and thin.

A known name in the world of pornography, Sunny made inroads into Indian entertainment when she participated in reality show ‘Bigg Boss 5’. Her appearance on the show set the ball rolling for her as far as getting work in Bollywood was concerned.

Sunny, whose real name is Karen Malhotra, got her first break with 2012 film ‘Jism 2’. Following that, she was seen in a special song in ‘Shootout at Wadala’ and then a full-fledged role in ‘Jackpot’.

She is looking forward to the release of ‘Ragini MMS 2’ later this year and hopes that the Indian film fraternity and the audience accept her in different roles and take her seriously as a performer.

The episode of ‘Breakfast To Dinner’, featuring Sunny will air Sunday.

Is Sujoy Ghosh remaking a Satyajit Ray film with Vidya Balan?

There were reports that Sujoy Ghosh, the National Award winning film-maker who earlier wrote, produced and directed Vidya Balan’s hit thriller Kahaani; was planning on remaking Satyajit Ray’s film Aranyer Din Ratri (Days and Nights in the Forest). When asked about it, he says the film’s ideology suits the 1970′s more than the present times and that is the reason he dropped the project.
Sujoy told a leading daily, “It wouldn’t make sense to make a period drama since we already have Ray’s classics.”
There were rumors that his next film with Vidya was based on Durga Shakti Nagpal, the civil servant who reacted against corruption, and was subsequently suspended and later reinstated by the UP government. Ghosh rubbished this and said “Utterly, absolutely rubbish, it’s a brand new script. It is a thriller that stars Irrfan Khan and Vidya Balan.”
When asked if it is a sequel to Kahaani, “No it isn’t; this is another story. Nevertheless, a sequel to Kahaani would be an exciting proposition but Kahaani 2, Kahaani 3, Kahaani 4, how long can I go on without getting bored out of my head?” was his reply…

What is too hot for the hottie Priyanka Chopra?

Looks like there is something so scorching that even the scorching Priyanka Chopra can’t handle it. While shooting for Yash Raj Film’s Gunday in Oman, Priyanka Chopra suffered from a severe heat rash.
“The scorching temperature in Oman and the sandstorms affected my skin and I ended up with rashes,” said Piggy Chops. But she didn’t stop the shoot. “As they say, the show must go on and I decided to complete the shooting before seeking medication,” she added.
Last year, while shooting for the Mary Kom biopic in Manali, a bug bit her and she developed a rash. She got really paranoid about the bugs and called off the Manali shoot; which was eventually shot at a studio in Mumbai. Looks like she’s learnt to be a bit more professional.
It was probably a relief to the makers of Gunday when she told them she would finish the shoot.

Actor Sherlyn Chopra seems to be controversy's favourite child. The latest one has Rupesh Kaul, producer of Kamasutra 3D, filing a case against her. It all started when the actress, who stars in Rupesh’s film, didn’t turn up at the trailer launch.
This prompted Rupesh to call her ‘unprofessional’. Not one to cow down, Sherlyn decided to use social media in her fight against Rupesh. In fact, the actress didn’t hesitate from hurling abuses at the producer in her tweets.
Outraged by her comments, Rupesh has now decided to resolve the matter through the legal route: he has filed a defamation case against Sherlyn and is claiming damages to the tune of Rs 5cr.
When contacted, the filmmaker confirmed this development. “I had to take this step as Sherlyn has crossed all boundaries of decency this time around. No human being should behave this way with another,” he said.

Don't think myself as number one actress: Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone does not think that she is the number one heroine and says box- office collections do not matter much to her.

Last year, Deepika delivered four back-to-back hit films - Abbas Mustan's 'Race 2', 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' with Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Chennai Express' and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Ram Leela'.
Deepika Padukone
When asked if she thinks she is the heroine number one, Deepika says, "I don't think of myself that way, it feels good when others say it. I think that is the best kind of validation that you can get when people tell you that.
I hope it is about the work and not necessarily the numbers (money) that the films are making. "Box office collection doesn't value much to me, I feel the films should have repeat value.
For me, the sign of a successful film is that it should have repeat value even after 10 or 20 years. Like, how we refer to 'Sholay', 'Kabhie Kabhie', 'Mughal-E-Azam' today...they are iconic films. I hope the films that I have been part of end up becoming like that," she said. Deepika has been nominated in the best actress category at almost all the award shows this year. "There have been really nice performances.
I am little disappointed that all my films got released last year... I wish they were spaced out and gave audience a breathing time. But the year was special to me, not just box office wise but also for the appreciation that I got for the films," she said. When asked who she thinks as her competitor this year, she said, "Nimrat Kaur was good in 'The Lunch box', Sonakshi Sinha in 'Lootera' and Sonam Kapoor in 'Ranjhaana'."
Though she tasted success last year, she is not worried about the future. "I think we should not worry. I work from heart and give my best. I work very hard for all my films and the fate of the films are beyond your control," she said. Her onscreen chemistry with Shah Rukh has been appreciated by everyone.
"We have been lucky in terms of scripts that we got. It took six years for us to come together for 'Chennai Express' after 'Om Shanti Om'. It is the script and the character that enhances our onscreen chemistry. I hope 'Happy New Year' is as special as 'Om Shanti Om' and 'Chennai Express'," she said.

I am single, says Deepika Padukone

Actress Deepika Padukone, who has been romantically linked with her 'Ram-Leela' co-star Ranveer Singh, says that she is very much single.

Deepika Padukone

Apparently, Deepika, who turned 28 on January 5 spent her birthday with Ranveer and the alleged couple was spotted together in New York. In an interview recently, she had denied rumours of a relationship with Ranveer but evaded the question on the issue this time saying that all this talk is not true.
When asked if she was single, she said, "Yes ...yes." "You are happy (now)," she told reporters at the Stardust cover launch event here last night.
Earlier, the actress sidestepped queries on Ranveer on filmmaker Karan Johar's chat show 'Koffee with Karan' when she was prodded about her supposed boyfriend and instead asked, "Am I dating him ?"
Sometime back, the pictures of Ranbir Kapoor and his rumoured girlfriend Katrina Kaif were published by the magazine. And now Deepika's photos with Ranveer are going viral but the actress is not worried about the pictures getting published.
"It doesn't matter as it is part of what I do. When the issue releases I will buy the copy to read it," she said.

Neha Dhupia has never participated in a marathon before

Neha Dhupia took to running as part of her fitness regime barely a year ago. She found it therapeutic and now running is an intrinsic part of her daily life. Motivated by her passion for pace, the actress is participating in the Mumbai Marathon on January 19, in the half marathon run (21 kms).
She says, “When I went to register, there were some raised eyebrows. They thought I would be part of the Dream Run or shorter distances, but I am determined to give it my best shot.”
Talking about her preparations, the actress says that she has been training hard and wants to test her endurance. “I began running during the monsoon last year. I used to follow several exercise regimes, but I find running spiritual now.”
Turns out the actress was inspired by Amit Sheth’s book, Dare To Run. “It was a big motivating factor for me. I recommend running to everyone. It can do wonders for your life.
When I ran the first time, my trainer Princeton, who is an athlete, told me you are exactly like the others, but gradually you make peace with yourself and find your groove. I have had my share of injuries and have Dr Shyamal who specialises in such injuries on my speed dial.”
Neha hopes to complete the targetted run and even if she does not -- at least she tried.

For his next film centred around the life of an actress-turned-politician, Madhur Bhandarkar is looking at casting a leading name from the industry. In fact, he has not one but three heroines on his wish-list for this film titled Madamji.
With the film’s script in its final stage, the director is planning to approach Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Vidya Balan to play the lead role in his film.
A source says, “Madhur will be meeting all three of them and depending on how the talks go, the film’s lead will be finalised.” The director of Fashion and Heroine clearly hasn’t had enough of women-centric films.
The source adds that this film traces the story of a small-time actress who turns to politics under the guidance of her mentor, and that the film’s lead character will be in her late 30s or early 40s.
“Like all his other films, this one will be a hard-hitting film with a dash of humour. The film takes its inspiration a real-life person who is currently a politician in Uttar Pradesh,’’ says the source. Interestingly, Madhur has earlier worked on a movie with politics as its premise.
His film Satta, starring Raveena Tandon, revolved around a woman who hates politics but joins it eventually. however, remained unavailable for comment.

Over the past few days, Sunny Leone and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh have been shooting for a special song for the film Ragini MMS 2 in Film City.
While the first day saw the shoot go as per plan, the second day had producers call in extra security due to the large crowd that had thronged the film set.
A source says, “On first day, there weren’t too many people on the set which meant that we could manage the shoot easily.
This was not the case on the following day as many people -- who now knew about Sunny Leone shooting here -- had gathered at the set to get a glimpse of her.” The source adds that with many junior artistes being featured in the song, it made sense for the filmmakers to deploy more security.
To add to it, people on the set were asked to switch off their mobiles. “The producers didn’t want anyone to leak out images from the shoot. In fact, some actors and crew members were even upset by this move, but they had to abide by the rules in order to ensure that the shoot went off smoothly.”
When contacted, Tanuj Garg, CEO of the production house, confirmed the news

Item girl tag derogatory and silly: Malaika Arora Khan

Actress Malaika Arora Khan, whose popular dance numbers like 'Chaiyya Chaiyya', 'Munni Badnam Hui' have raised the bar for her contemporaries to match her style, finds the item girl tag "derogatory and silly".

"I don't like the term 'item girl'... Why not look at it (item song) as a special song?...A song that is creating a hype and entertainment. I find it derogatory and silly," Malaika told PTI in an interview.

Unlike in the past, currently mainstream actresses like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and others are also doing special songs in different films.

When asked if the leading ladies are intruding the space, Malaika said she did not think so.

"There is enough work for everyone. Everybody has a role or part to play, if somebody fits the bill that is what matters," she added.

Malaika, whose song 'Munni Badnam Hui' in Bollywood film 'Dabangg' (2010) was a hit, says nothing interesting has come up in terms of special dance numbers.

The actress is back to judge yet another season of television series of reality show, 'India's Got Talent'.

"Last time, I was there for half the season. This time I am getting the feel of everything as I am there from beginning. Previously, I was there from elimination part and it was tough. This time it is insane amount of work. In a day we have 20-25 acts minimum," Malaika said.

On the talent pool at 'India's Got Talent', she said some of the acts pulled off by contestants in the current fifth season are breathtaking.

"Some of the acts this season are hysterical, beyond anyone's comprehension. The acts are breathtaking, mind blowing, death defying and amazing. I don't think there is any show which provides you a platform to showcase varied kind of talent from all over the country," she said. Malaika says disqualifying contestants is a tough call.

"Everybody comes with a background... A story. We try to dwell into their personal lives, we ask them where they come from, interact with them... It brings out the real aspect of the show.

"Despite the kind of conditions that they have been living in they still pursue their talent, something that they want to show to the world. It is difficult to say no but we have no choice but to follow the format," Malaika said.

Besides Malaika, filmmaker Karan Johar and actress Kirron Kher are other judges for the show to be aired on Colors.

Though Malaika has proved herself as a dancer on screen, but one format she wants to learn is belly dancing.

"I would love to learn popping, locking and robotics, gymnastics and acrobatics, it is amazing to learn these things. I know basic thing about belly dancing but not the technicalities, I want to learn it. I want to learn belly dancing. I wish to learn more of dancing. I have been associated with dance since long time but yet there is so much more to learn about it," she said.

Malaika says the space of belly dancing is largely unexplored in Bollywood movies.

"We have done a few steps here and there in films, whether Deepika Padukone or Katrina Kaif they all have done it but not the real part. There is no one who has actually done belly dancing on screen.

"We just know how to move a bit here and there. But there is lot more to it like -- the way the one moves their body, the rhythm they have, muscle control, etc, it is not easy. I want to go little deeper into belly dancing and learn it," she added. Besides belly dancing, the 40-year-old actress would like to do some bike stunts and acrobatics, which she says fascinate her.
