Happy New Year Full Movie Review Of Shahrukh Khan

Strange moments aside, there were glimpses of Farah’s brilliant humour and not a dull (illogical and strange, yes) moment in the movie. In Happy New Year, like her previous flicks, the best is saved for the last as the entire cast and crew take part in a “Worst Dance Competition” when the credits roll. It all ends with a svelte Gauri and a cherubic AbRam playing with his besotted dad SRK. Is sitting through the entire movie worth it just to get to the end? In this case, YES! The final word: Happy New Year is worth a watch this festive season. You will, like me, laugh throughout the movie – whether at, or with them! Dear readers, you decide.

Low on logic, and high on opulence, her movies flourish on song and dance, and rides purely on Shah Rukh Khan’s shoulders, or might we add abs! Her ‘Happy New Year’, however, is her weakest dance link, or should we say the “worst” yet. It’s never about the dance but about comedy of the lowest rank and over-the-top patriotism. Armed with no real story and dialogues and scenes borrowed from SRK’s earlier films, ‘Happy New Year’s exposes Farah’s deep desire to impress SRK.

The robbery and its build-up should have been water-tight, but their clowning around takes up a lot of screen time making it a tedious watch. You may find yourself laughing at some of their antics, but HNY proves that nothing spectacular comes out of mixing gang robbery with grinding hips. It’s got a few silly jokes, but they are too few to transform HNY into an engaging watch.

More than five years ago, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan— two of the biggest stars in the industry -- had a major spat at a party held in Mumbai. Since then the chill between the two actors seems to have thawed. At least that’s what it looked like at a recent awards do.
Held at the NSCI stadium in Worli on Thursday night, the event saw emcee Salman Khan share a warm hug -- twice -- with SRK. When Deepika Padukone announced that SRK had won the Entertainer of the Year award, the beaming actor came on stage and made it a point to hug both Deepika and Salman.
What’s more, he had lavish praise for the latter. “It feels nice to have won this award, especially because I am in the company of Salman Khan, who I think is among the greatest entertainers in the country,” he said upon receiving the award.
To which Salman replied that he loved SRK in the film Chennai Express. “Now that I have appreciated your work, please say the same about my film Jai Ho,” he said.
If this is not enough, the Dabangg actor even locked Abhishek Bachchan in a warm embrace. However, Salman was not willing to forget all of his past animosity: when actor Vivek Oberoi came on stage to collect an award for his film Grand Masti, Salman quickly moved away, his face wearing a serious expression. The event also saw some high-energy performances by Kareena Kapoor, Prabhu Deva, Sonakshi Sinha and Shraddha Kapoor.

Earlier, the two tried never to cross each other's path. Salman was the host for the award show and was on the stage while Shah Rukh was seated alongside other members of the film fraternity.

It was 'Dabangg' Khan who took the initiative and asked -- "Shah Rukh kya ho raha hai?"
He even congratulated SRK on the success of 'Chennai Express' to which the latter waved, acknowledging Salman's compliment.
Salman also made SRK say 'Jai Ho' (Salman's upcoming movie), which the King Khan jovially obliged to.

Last year, the hug between Shah Rukh and Salman at Congress leader Baba Siddique's Iftaar party led everyone to believe that the two had become friends again, but they refused to elaborate on it.
The two Khans turned foes after their spat at Katrina Kaif's birthday party in 2008. Since then the two have always avoided each other in public as well.

Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s bodyguard Ravi was detained at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) police station for about two hours for having stopped a woman from entering the backstage area of an awards function held in the vicinity on Tuesday night.
Senior police inspector Chandrakant Bhosale of BKC police station confirmed the news. “A Marathi actress named Sharvari lodged a complaint with us. It seems that the bodyguard didn’t allow her to enter the area even though she had an all-area access pass with her.”
A source present at the event adds, “Ravi was escorting SRK to the venue and with a huge crowd swelling around the star, this actress was pushed away by Ravi. She then fell on the ground.”
With the complaint being lodged, Ravi was summoned to the police station, after which he was let off with a warning. No FIR was lodged in the case. However, a source close to SRK says that it was Sharvari who had misbehaved with SRK's staff. “The cops didn’t find Ravi guilty of any improper conduct; he has been working for SRK for over six years now.”

Shah Rukh Khan in Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani?

After waiting for 14 whole years to take off, things seem to be looking up for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much awaited project 'Bajirao Mastani'.

Read: Shah Rukh Khan says he's back to being a grown up again

In fact, reports suggest that the filmmaker has even roped in biggie Shah Rukh Khan for the lead role in his historical drama that follows the life of Peshwa Bajirao and his love Mastani. And while Deepika Padukone might play the role of Mastani, Katrina Kaif will reportedly play Bajirao's wife Kashibai.

Bhansali first announced the project back in '99, when it also faced its first roadblock. His then lead pair Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai had broken off, and Bhansali was left with Aishwarya Rai whom he later considered replacing with Kareena Kapoor. But that didn't happen either.

After Ram-Leela, Bhansali has now finally started pre-production work on the film - something the film needs a lot of reportedly - and is gearing up to complete the much delayed film.

Priyanka Chopra says I can romance anybody

Actress Priyanka Chopra says she can romance anybody in her films, so why just talk about megastar Shah Rukh Khan.

Priyanka has delivered two hit films 'Don' and 'Don 2' with SRK.

When asked if she and Shah Rukh would make better co-hosts as far as romance and comedy on the stage is concerned, Priyanka said, "I can romance anybody, why just him... That is my job."

Priyanka arrived late for the Filmfare awards press conference, which was scheduled to begin from 7.30 pm but it

started after 9 PM as the actress was held up in traffic.

"I used to come late earlier also, it is not something that is dependent on my mood. I was shooting and then got stuck in traffic... Sorry for being late. I broke my new year resolution of not coming late because of work and traffic."

The actress will be hosting 59th edition of Filmfare awards with Ranbir Kapoor and is nervous about it.

"This is for the first time that I will be co-hosting the awards, I am very nervous. It's scary and exciting... But if you don't do tough things in life then there is no fun," Priyanka said.

In the past, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan have hosted the award show.

"Shah Rukh, Saif, Ranbir, Imran, so many people have hosted the show and they have always set the standard. So, it becomes little scary and there is a pressure. Logically, the

pressure applies on Ranbir. But I have been working very hard to make sure it will be lot of fun," she said.

Priyanka said if she had an option of co-hosting the award show with an actress, it would be Vidya Balan. "I think she (Vidya) is spontaneous and she is lot of fun," Priyanka addedAccording to her, actress Deepika Padukone has given the best performance as an actress last year.

The Filmfare awards will be held on January 24 at Yash

Raj Films studio.

Shah Rukh Khan wants Deepika Padukone to lead 'Happy New Year' 2014.

Shah Rukh Khan is keeping his promise and it has to do nothing with Deepika Padukone being the Number One superstar of 2013 after delivering four super-successes worth over Rs. 600 crores. For his upcoming film 'Happy New Year', it is yet again his leading lady who is enjoying the top billing in the whole publicity material and promotional campaign.

"It is going to be Deepika's name coming before Shah Rukh's. This is in line with Shah Rukh's declaration during the days of 'Chennai Express'. At that time he had surprised many in the industry by insisting that Deepika gets a top billing over him," informs a source.

Though it had seemed like an aberration to many, considering the fact that even the film as a whole was being promoted more as a Rohit Shetty entertainer than a quintessential Shah Rukh Khan starrer, it is crystal clear that for Baadshah Khan, the decision was for the keeps.

Confirms the film's director, Farah Khan saying, "Shah Rukh wants it this way and we are happy to comply with the same for 'Happy New Year' as well."

The film has been announced for Diwali 2014 release and rest assured, Deepika is all set to sparkle this year as well and that too, from the top. Pun intended!
