Karan Johar Got stumped talking to Salman Khan on my chat show

Filmmaker Karan Johar says he got stumped speaking to superstar Salman Khan on ‘Koffee With Karan’ and thought the actor very funny as he kept parking humour with a straight face.
Karan is currently into the fourth season of the celebrity talk show, whose very first guest this time was his best friend Shah Rukh Khan’s one-time enemy Salman.
Also, the ‘Dabangg’ Khan has never been a guest on the show before. During the chat, Salman made some stunning revelations including he is a virgin.
“I have gone world over and there are people who genuinely came and asked me is he really a virgin. He was being funny when he said I am saving myself for the wedding night. Salman has a straight face sense of humour. I can’t believe there are people who believed it. That is what is scary as you can say anything and people might take you seriously,” Karan said.
Ask him if he ever was at loss of words while talking to Salman, the host said, “Sometimes you get stumped with Salman.. Even I got stumped one or two times like what should I do now, sometimes because of seniority you tend to… with younger generation you can get away saying anything.”
Salman’s presence on the opening episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’ had people talking. But Karan shrugged off the controversy.
“Last season I started with Abhishek Bachchan and his wife Aishwarya. With very show there is always a different journey. With this particular season it is different journey.
Why do people read into everything..it is just a show… who starts and ends it how does it matter,” he asked.
The surprising element this time was the appearance of the other two Khans– Salman and Aamir– on the chat show as SRK has been regularly part of the previous seasons.
“Both had not been on the show for various reasons in the past. I am glad they both made it this time. Salman kicked off the season in a superb way and I am happy he came. I was very touched as he was warm and wonderful, which he always is,” Karan said.
Karan has known Salman since long time and he was part of his debut directorial film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ as well.
“Also, I have known Aamir for a long time, I have known Kiran very closely. I have very good relations with them, I have a solid bond with them. I have strong equations with all the movie actors. In case of Akshay Kumar I am closer to his wife Tina.. she is my childhood friend.
“I know Ajay because Kajol is an old friend of mine. So, I have my own connections with these movie stars and I always will,” he added.
The other guests who have appeared on the show so far include Kareena Kapoor

Khan with cousin Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir with wife Kiran, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.

'India's Got Talent' judges in awe of talent pool for 5th season

Judges of 'India's Got Talent' - Karan Johar, Malaika Arora Khan and Kiron Kher - feel contestants participating in the fifth season of the reality television series are "outstanding".
"For me, talent needs to inspire but also shake up the preconceived notions of excellence. Whether it is dance, singing or any other creative act, I will look for talent that enthralls and entertains me. This year competition will be exciting," Johar said.
Agreeing with the filmmaker, Malaika Arora Khan said she was proud to be associated with the show.
Kher, who is judging the show for the fifth time, said, "I am very impressed and proud with the variety of talent this year. We three judges bring warmth and vibe. We three work very well and it translates good on TV."
The newest entry to the 'India's Got Talent' format is Golden Buzzer that provides the talent with a direct entry to semi-finals by judges.
Bharti Singh and Mantra will host the show.
The huge variety of talent pool from the age of three to 80 years is one of the USPs of the show. Contestants will show their talent on stage pulling off various stunts including fire jumping and acrobatics to name a few.

Young filmmakers make Karan Johar feel insecure

Filmmaker Karan Johar feels insecure amid the new bunch of budding directors and fears losing what he has achieved.

"I am very insecure about these young filmmakers. I am constantly on my toes so that I know what others are doing. And that is why I made such a young film 'Student of the Year' so that I could cater to the youth. I made a high school film when I was 40-year-old," Karan told PTI in an interview here.

"I need to be with the time, I don't want to become senior and old so fast. I want to make movies till I die. I want to do better work and also acknowledge someone else's work," he said.

Karan also fears losing all what he has one day.

"We all have the fear of it. The fear of failure and fear of letting go off the profession is tremendous, and that is why I am blessed to be a movie maker where I can always produce films, if not direct. I am glad I am not an actor where age and vanity are such important prerequisites," he said.

Earlier, Karan was primarily making love stories but he started experimenting with different genres with like 'Agneepath', 'Bombay Talkies' and 'Gippy'.

Other than his career as a producer-director, Johar is equally busy on the small screen. The filmmaker, who has been making headlines with the latest season of his chat show 'Koffee With Karan', is back as a co-judge on 'India's Got Talent' show.

"This time they have raised the level of performance, we have introduced circus acts, dangerous water acts, outdoor

stunts, etc. The talent this season is far more exceptional from across the country," Karan said.

So, judging will be a little difficult for him considering the performances on the show are breath-taking.

"It is not that difficult because what is great we immediately agree to it and what is not... is not, but to find a middle path is tough. This time we have a golden buzzer which is the fast track to semi-finals," he said.

Karan shares a wonderful equation with co-judges Malaika Arora Khan and Kirron Kher.

"We have great comfort zone, we have complete understanding and there is no ego tussle. I have never had any problem with anybody. I am happy to get along with everyone. This is not my core job, I do it for fun. I do it because it enthralls me, entertains me and energises me. So I am excited to do this show," he said.

Other than the jaw dropping acts on the talent reality show, Karan feels the new season is more about human stories.

"I think 'India's Got Talent' is also about human stories. I think the hardships that certain contestants go through moves us. Despite the hardships and struggle, the idea is to bring the talent to this platform. We saw a group of blind people doing Malkhamb and it was amazing, heartening. It is inspiring," Karan added.
