To mark Bhagwan Dada's birth centenary last year, a biopic, Ek Albela, was announced on the yesteryear actor-filmmaker best remembered for his 1951 film Albela and the song Shola Jo Bhadke.
The
project, however, has now run hit a roadblock. The film’s director Dr
Mohnish Babre has filed a cheating case against writer-director Niranjan
Patwardhan at the Bhoiwada police station. Niranjan, an assistant to
Madhur Bhandarkar on films like Traffic Signal, Fashion and Jail, had
been working on the film’s screenplay.
Author Isaq Mujhawar has written Ek Albela with inputs from Arun Palav, Bhagwan Dada’s son. “Since August, Niranjan was reluctant to share the bound script. We sent him letters and even a legal notice to which he didn’t reply.
Finally we went ahead and filed an FIR against him,” adds Babre. In the meanwhile, Niranjan has announced another movie on Bhagwan Dada with another producer.
