Who will direct John Abraham's 'Mirchi'?

John Abraham is yet to finalise a director for the Hindi remake of the film 'Mirchi'

Last year, actor-producer John Abraham acquired the remake rights of the hit Telugu film 'Mirchi'.

Directed by debutant Koratala Siva and starring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Richa Gangopadhyay in lead roles, the original film released in February last year and was declared a blockbuster upon its release.

A year since then, John is yet to sign on a director for the film's Hindi remake. It seems that John had initially asked Koratala Siva to do so but the latter couldn't come on board due to other prior commitments. Sources say that the actor is currently looking for a new director in his place.
`John is still trying to find a director for the film and it is also likely that John will act in it. The remaining cast is yet to be finalised. John is busy shooting for Welcome Back right now and will start work on this project once he finalises a director for the same,` says a source.

John Abraham remained unavailable for the comment.

John not yet prepared for small screen

While a lot of Bollywood celebrities are experimenting with the small screen, especially judging reality shows, actor-producer John Abraham wants to stay away from it.

"I would like to judge shows in colleges and schools but I am not yet prepared to judge any show on TV," the 41-year-old said at the Jai Hind college alumni meet here.

John is also an alumnus of Jai Hind college.

Filmmaker Karan Johar and actresses Malaika Arora Khan and Kirron Kher can be currently seen judging the reality show "India's Got Talent."
Shilpa Shetty has also judged dance reality show "Nach Baliye" for two seasons.

John is currently shooting for "Welcome Back" while his production "1911," a film based on football, is set to go on the floors this October.

Ayushmann and John to team up again?

Actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana has teamed up with mentor John Abraham for a period drama.

John had launched TV VJ Ayushmann in Bollywood with his maiden home production "Vicky Donor" and the fun film on sperm donation turned out to be a roaring hit in 2012.

"We are coming up with "1911" with John and Shoojit Sircar. John and me are playing a parallel lead in the film. It's a period drama. The film will be shot widely in Kolkata," Ayushmann told IANS.

A football drama, "1911" is based on both the popular football clubs - Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. John has said that the film will go on the floors in October and described it as a combination of "Lagaan" and "Chak De! India".

John's '1911' is like 'Lagaan' meeting 'Chak De! India'

John Abraham's "1911", a film on football, is set to go on floors in October, and the actor describes it as a combination of "Lagaan" and "Chak De! India".

"We are very excited about it going on floors," said John.

"We are doing a lot of research on the film. It's a true story. For people, who want to understand what kind of a film it is, it is like 'Lagaan' meeting 'Chak De! (India)'. I would hope and say that it's even better," the 41-year-old said here during an endorsement shoot for the Hockey India League team Delhi Waveriders.

"1911" is based on both the popular football clubs Mohun Bagan and East Bengal.

"More than just Mohun Bagan, I like both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. I think it's important to share with people that it's not just on Mohun Bagan, it's a film on football. It's a film that I am producing and Shoojit Sircar in directing, it's called '1911.' It is starting this October," said John, who had earlier featured in football based drama "Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal".
While "Lagaan" was a period drama set in pre-independent India revolving around the sport of cricket, "Chak De! India" was about the women's hockey team.

When asked which sports film he feels is the best, John said, "I think the best film based on sports will be '1911'."

Will John Abraham spill the beans on his secret marriage?

New Delhi: After the much- publicized episodes featuring Ranbir- Kareena, Ranveer- Arjun, and Aamir-Kiran, filmmaker Karan Johar, is rumoured to grill actor turned producer John Abraham on his talk show `Kofee With Karan`.

According to a tabloid, John, who recently suprised one and all by hinting that he is married to girlfriend Priya Runchal, is reportedly ready to grace the couch in the upcoming episodes.

However, it is also said that the `Madras Cafe` star who has allegely promised to appear on Johar`s talk show, will appear sans his wife.

"John will perhaps shoot for `Koffee With Karan` in the second week of January. It is most likely that he may go on the show with Anushka Sharma or some other A-list heroine and not his wife," a source said.

The makers of the show had reportedly tried persuading Abraham to come with his wife, but the actor turned down this request, as Priya is busy with her work commitments overseas.
