The veteran actor will be endorsing the show by featuring in its promos. The superstar of Malayalam cinema recently shot promos for the issue-based show. Mohanlal will talk about the various subjects that will be tackled by Aamir in the show.
It seems that the channel decided to rope in Mohanlal in order leverage his star status and reach out to a larger audience, especially in the South. Mohanlal will be touching upon issues that impact citizens across the country - be it about Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi or Chennai.
Uday Shankar, CEO, Star India, says, `The issues raised by Satyamev Jayate are of national importance. Mohanlal's iconic association with the show will help garner greater support for the cause of the show.`
Incidentally, when the first season was aired in 2012, Aamir had visited Kochi for his show's promotions. The star caught up with Mohanlal over lunch along with Malayalam filmstar, Dileep. Mohanlal had apparently showed Aamir his collection of antiques, which are said to have greatly impressed the latter.
Back in 2011, buzz had it that the two stars were starring together in a film helmed by Priyadarshan. But this turned out to be mere speculation and instead, they are now pairing up for this TV show, that is slated to go on air from March 2.
