Kapil Sharma is so overworked and stressed by the criticism about his
supposed high-handed behavior at the CCL that he has developed a
back-pain.
`I am shooting through the pain. And it's not just physical pain. It's the
pain of being constantly attacked and held accountable for crimes that
you didn't even know you committed,` says Kapil in an
uncharacteristically somber mood.
Reports that he threw a tantrum for a vanity van at the Celebrity
Cricket League's inaugural event on Saturday, have Kapil perturbed.
Defending himself the comic virtuoso says, `There was no show of
dada-giri from my end. I can never behave badly. I never have.I never
will. Baat 1 lakh ki hai ussey 14 crore ki banaayee gayi hai (the matter
has been blown out of all proportions). .`
So what really happened at the CCL's inaugural event?
Explains Kapil, `I was shooting for my show Comedy Nights With Kapil
until 1 am. I reached the venue of the CCL event at 3 am straight from
the other shooting. I needed a private space to freshen up, grab a bite
and to plug in my laptop so I could rehearse my lines before going on
stage. There was no such place.`
Kapil says he discussed the problem with the organizers before leaving.
`Everyone was in the loop. Vishnu Sir(CCI founder Vishnu Vardhan
Induri) was also informed. I share a great rapport with Sohail
Bhai(Sohail Khan co-owner Mumbai Heroes). In fact during the last
season of the CCL I was on stage for a good two hours doing what I
enjoy the most. This time I couldn't be there unfortunately for the
opening event. But Mandira Bediji was more than adequate doing the
anchoring.In any case I can't comment on cricket.She can.`
Kapil says he is ready and available for the future CCL games as and how
he is wanted. `I share a superb rapport with Sohail Bhai. This kind of
talk creates bad blood for nothing.Shouldn't we be focusing on the
positive rather than spreading ugly rumours?I have my show to run twice a
week now. It's taking up all my time. Still,I'd be more than happy to
stand by my friends whenever they need me.`
Pained Kapil ends, `I don't want to be accused of getting too big for my
boots. If I am then I'd rather not wear boots.Tell me , do I look like
someone who would throw a tantrum for petty reasons? I've been brought
up in austere conditions.I know how to rough it out.`
When contacted Sohail Khan said neither he nor Salman had any problems with Kapil. `Kapil is and will remain a friend.`
